The LLM/MPhil in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa (HRDA) is a prestigious one-year intensive course in which 25-30 exceptional individuals spend six months in Pretoria and six months at one of Africa’s 12 partner universities. They are taught by eminent human rights lecturers and participate in numerous practical training exercises.

Value of Award: Depending on funding availability, full-scholarships covering at least tuition, housing, and official program activities are provided to up to 25 African citizens.

Eligibility:
Applicants must have outstanding academic credentials as well as human rights experience or interest. Women and members of minority groups, such as indigenous people, LGBTI people, and people with disabilities, are especially encouraged to apply.
