The Tongarewa Scholarship is being offered by Victoria University of Wellington to commemorate the university’s commitment to its international student community. Applicants who are in their first year of an undergraduate degree or a postgraduate degree programme at Victoria University of Wellington are eligible. Recipients are expected to act as Victoria University of Wellington Ambassadors and to participate in appropriate events or marketing as requested.

Scholarship worth and inclusions:
Scholarships range from $5,000 to $10,000 NZD. This is a fee-based scholarship that will cover a portion of your tuition for one year of study.
Scholarship recipients are guaranteed a place in the Halls of Residence if an accommodation application is received by the Accommodation Service by the required deadline.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be first-year international students who are paying full international fees and are either beginning an undergraduate degree or beginning a postgraduate degree.
Applicants must have received a place offer from Victoria University of Wellington (conditional or unconditional).
Instructions for use:
To apply, you must complete an online application and submit it before the deadline. The scholarship application deadlines are 1 June 2022 for Semester 2 (2022), 1 September 2022 for Semester 3 (2022), and 30 November 2022 for Semester 4 (2022). (Trimester 1, 2023). Normally, applications open one month before the closing date.
